The Elden Ring Ruin Fragments are crafting materials for Rainbow Stones and Glowstones.

These shimmering stone shards are typically found on the large, fallen ruins scattered across the Lands Between. They are used to mark your path or measure lethal fall distances.

Standard Overworld Locations

Finding these is an important part of stocking up on utility items early in your journey:

• Limgrave: Found in high concentrations on the fallen stone ruins near The First Step and the Gatefront Ruins.
• Liurnia of the Lakes: Shards are scattered across the massive ruins near the Academy Gate Town.
• Weeping Peninsula: Located on the ruins surrounding Castle Morne and the southern cliffs.
• Altus Plateau: Found on the large structures near the Grand Lift of Dectus and the road to Leyndell.

2026 Nightreign: Limveld & Spectral Shards

The Nightreign update from 2026 introduces specialized fragments found within the Limveld region.

• Limveld Locations: During a Shifting Earth event, unique shards can be found near the Forsaken Hollows.
• Nightreign Castle: Because the castle layout is randomized, these fragments are mandatory for marking the changing hallways and avoiding traps.
• The Scholar's Eye: For those playing the Scholar class, using "Arcane Sight" will highlight these fragments through the fog of a Nightreign Storm.
• Spectral Hawk Trees: These shards are often found at the base of Spectral Hawk Trees, serving as the main way to track your progress through the forest.
